Cut Capers

Cut Capers are a Bristol/Cardiff Hip-hop/Ska quintet comprising two emcees, sax, bass, drums, and electric guitar. Observational and amusing lyrics in both Spanish and English inter-splice with tight brass and head-nod ska-hop.

Imagine Thelonious Monk meeting A Tribe Called Quest and J Dilla in a small jazz joint in Prague. Blackbird Quintet

Blackbird are a Bristol-based quintet who have developed a set of well known jazz standards, intriguing instrumentals and surprising new arrangements of popular songs infused with polished vocal harmonies.

Bristol based band of babes singing a cappella! Covers from Little Richard to Nina Simone and some toe tapping originals written by the girls themselves. Sarah Jade, Emma Steel, April Jackson and Kim Fielding met at The Old Duke and still pour your whiskeys from time to time.

In 2003 DJ Buba & Jason King were sent to listen to music crimes they didn’t commit. They promptly escaped from a commercial seaside town to the dance music underground. Today still wanted by the public, they survive as DJs of fortune … If you have a party, if none else can help, and if you can find them … Maybe you can hire … The BUBAKING!

No.51 Stokes Croft

Our current home is No.51 Stokes Croft in Bristol.

51 Stokes Croft is one of the oldest license premises in Bristol. The building existed before the 1700s and became a licensed premises in 1725, known as the Kings Head. In 1814 the Waters family took it over and ran it as a spirits merchants with a small pub for over 100 years.

It was then sold on to a pub chain, who developed the building that you see now. As the local economy changed so did the fortune of the pub which became run down and neglected.

Thankfully people who have a passion for the area started a rejuvenating program which is putting the love back. Once again a family has bought the pub and are restoring it to former glory.

Celebrate International Women’s Day with Oxfam

Host a Get Together – There are Oxfam Get Together events happening through out the whole of March so it’s not too late to join in and host your own. An Oxfam Get Together can be as simple as a bake sale, a fundraising dinner with friends or use the sweepstake included in your pack at work.
